A picturesque village of Provence, especially of Luberon, is undoubtedly Gordes. Here it is felt the beauty and grandeur of Provence in all sense. The narrow cobbled streets, ancient medieval structure of the XIII century, light stone houses and the amazing postcard views – it’s all Gordes! It inspired many artists and photographers, including Marc Chagall and Victor Vasarely. Today the village is a unique part of the Association of the most beautiful cities in France.

Gordes is located on a hill, so you can only get there by car, which can be rented in Aix-en-Provence. At the foot of the rock where Gordes is located, there is the Abbey of Senanque - a unique active monastery of XII century, the walls of which lies among the fragrant lavender fields. Incidentally, it is recognized as one of the most beautiful in Provence. It seems that only here you will find peace and tranquility. Incredibly charming views of the abbey, surrounded by blue lavender is the facecard of this place.

They say, Gordes enjoys not only the foreign tourists, but the French themselves, who often come here from big cities in summer. And thanks to Ridley Scott's film «A good year», based on the book by Peter Mayle, the village has become more popular.
