Bouyon is a tiny municipality in the department of Alpes-Maritimes in southeastern of France. Located about 35 km from Nice, it offers the traveler a wonderful panoramic view of the Alps, has a traditional Provencal castle and the old communal bakery where local bakers still bake sweet bread.
The territory of the commune is located almost on a ridge that is part of the foothills west of Cheiron, among the wooded hills. From the village you can descend into the valley of Bouyon. This is a great holiday destination, which gets start walking trip into the Maritimes Alps, riding a mountain bike, plaing tennis or fishing.
In 1887, a municipality was affected by the earthquake, many buildings were destroyed. It took years to recover all the destruction in Bouyon.
