Blausasc is a fairly quiet and peaceful village of Alpes-Maritimes unlike crowded with tourists some popular cities of Cote d’Azur. It’s located near Nice and the magnificent beaches of the French Riviera. It stands on a hillside; its sloping hills are planted with pine and olive trees.
Blausasc is an old and at the same time a new town. The municipality was created as a result of separation from the municipality of Peille in 1926. The story of two communities closely related to each other: both have in common Consular Department of the XII century, both land belonged to Ventimiglia Lascari in the XVII century. In September 1872 the owner of a small village of Blausasc, a Count Saïssi de Châteauneuf decided to separate from Peille, since the town had already the infrastructure for independent existence. But Prefect dismissed the case of separation, and the debate resumed only at the end of World War I. In 1921, the trade union committee, consisting of representatives of several hamlets - Blausasc, Pallarea, Vienne, Pointe, unanimously voted for separation and creation a new community. Only January 13, 1926 Blausasc became an independent commune.
