For the first time at the outskirts of Marseille there will host the individual time trial of the most prestigious bike race in the world Tour de France.
The 104th edition of Tour de France started on July 1, 2017 in Dusseldorf with a 14-km individual race for an hour. The Route of Tour de France-2017 in 3540 km long is laid clockwise across Vosges, Jura, Pyrenees, Massif Central in the Alps, and runs through the territory of four states: Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and France.
At the penultimate stage, the participants will have an individual time trial of 22.5 km in the outskirts of Marseille on the Mediterranean coast.
A unique event will be held at Orange Velodrome. It will be both the start and the finish, a lasting challenge to the final stage of the race on the Champs Elysees in Paris. Cyclists will drive through the most beautiful places of the city, past the beaches of the coast, Avenue du Prado, Borély Park, on Corniche Kennedy, then around the Old Port before getting to Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde, going down again to Corniche Kennedy, and, finally, turn to Avenue du Prado, back to Orange Vélodrome.
Numerous festive, sports and musical events will be held at the Orange Velodrome. We look forward to this grand sporting event in our region, which will take place this Saturday, July 22!
